Getting Involved

Life Science Cares and Project Onramp are just two examples of ways that organizations can get involved at a community level and support an environment of diversity, equity and inclusion.

Whether participating in a donation drive or collaborating with other non-profits, Life Science Cares takes much of the administrative lift off of your plate.

Project Onramp helps Massachusetts life science companies tap into a local source of diverse talent as they advance pipelines and mature.

About Life Science Cares

Life Science Cares provides a platform for companies and their employees to make a difference. They support a multitude of local organizations in three ways:

  • Direct significant and flexible funding via grants to non-profits. We prioritize multi-year awards that allow organizations to plan and lower the administrative burden of reapplying year after year. Send passionate volunteers to these organizations to supply them with a workforce that can make a measurable difference.
  • Collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in donated goods to help address the need in the community. This can range from clothing, non-perishable food items, diapers and wipes, furniture for folks leaving homelessness, to pajamas and toys for kids.
  • Collaborate on projects with nonprofits so we can help them increase their capacity by matching them with the professionals in our industry who can help.

Project Onramp

About Project Onramp

While many companies offer valuable internship opportunities, it can be difficult for students from these populations to gain access to internships, which are often a path to full-time employment.

Project Onramp pairs high-achieving, low-income, often first generation college students with paid internships in hard science and in business disciplines, including marketing, communications, HR and administration.

For smaller companies providing internships through Project Onramp, the Massachusetts Life Science Center will subsidize qualifying internships by as much as $8,160 per intern
